What is the IPGA?

The International Policy Governance® Association (IPGA) is an independent, charitable organization formed in 1999 and incorporated in 2001 in order to create a forum for the nurturing of responsible governance and of effective, ethical governance consulting. The Association intends to impact the understanding, use and teaching of the Policy Governance system and welcomes into membership boards using Policy Governance, as well as individuals or organizations who use or teach Policy Governance or are interested in supporting IPGA and its purpose. What are IPGA’s Ends?

Global End:

IPGA exists so that boards worldwide practice Policy Governance^® effectively at a cost to IPGA that is justifiable by the results.

1 Policy Governance advocates and consultants accurately represent Policy Governance principles and effectively assist boards in applying them.

2 Credible evidence for the effectiveness of Policy Governance exists at a cost not to exceed 10% of organizational resources.

3 Policy Governance practitioners engage in supportive interaction with international peers.

4 Boards have information about the availability of Policy Governance^® Academy(SM) trained IPGA member consultants.

5 There is a recognizable symbol of Policy Governance consulting competence and ethical consulting practice.
